Description: Up for bid is a good Victorian sterling silver child’s cup by Dominick & Haff, dated 1881, from a prominent New Jersey family. The piece is 4 1/8 inches wide over the handle by 2 3/4 inches in diameter by 3 5/8 inches tall at the rim and weighs 199 grams. It has a simple handle and a plain cylindrical body with an incurved rim. It is engraved “WALTER H. LIPPINCOTT / NOV 27th 1878” with engraved decoration on the front. It is engraved “From his Grandmother / Anna H. Lippincott” on the foot. The piece is marked with the Dominick & Haff trademark with a date of 1881, “STERLING”, “J.E. CALDWELL & CO.” and “82”. Condition on the piece is fair. There are some dents, mainly on one side, as well as normal wear from years of use. It has not been restored of buffed. Still a fine old cup!
